Delete Your Ling Account
We respect your right to privacy and data ownership. If you wish to permanently delete your Ling account and associated data, follow the steps below.

This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, your profile, photos, and account access cannot be recovered. Please read the information below before submitting a request.
Delete Directly in the App
The fastest way to delete your account is from within the Ling app:
- Open the Ling app on your device
- Go to Profile → Settings
- Scroll to the bottom and tap “Delete Account”
- Confirm your choice when prompted
Your account and data will be permanently deleted immediately upon confirmation.
Submit a Deletion Request by Email
If you no longer have access to the app, email us with the following details:
- Your display name or username on Ling
- The email address or phone number used to register
- A brief statement that you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated data
We will confirm and process your request within 7 business days.
What Data Is Affected
✅ Permanently deleted immediately upon account deletion:
- Your authentication account (login credentials)
- Your profile — display name, age, interests, and all settings
- Your profile photos and any other media files you uploaded
🕐 Retained temporarily — purged within 1 day:
- Message content and timestamps — kept briefly in chat threads to maintain conversation integrity for the other party, then permanently deleted within 1 day.
🛡️ Retained for safety — purged after 90 days:
- Reported content and abuse reports involving your account are retained for 90 days for trust & safety review, then permanently deleted.
After the applicable retention period, all data is permanently and securely erased from our systems.
Deletion Timeline Summary
Immediately
Auth account, profile, profile photos, and all media files are permanently deleted. You are logged out of all devices.
Within 1 day
Remaining message metadata (text content, timestamps) is fully purged from chat threads.
Within 90 days
Safety-retained data (reported content, abuse reports) is permanently deleted after trust & safety review.
